Muay Thai
Our striking classes combine elements of Boxing, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai. It has been designed for all skill levels, to train the competitive athlete while giving the casual student a great work out. Each class will demonstrate effective techniques for striking that can be used in competition, self-defense, or as a simple challenging workout.
Our Muay Thai Basics classes are a great way to learn new skills if you don’t have prior experience, or sharpen your basics arsenal if you do.
Required Clothing and Equipment:
Any comfortable workout clothes are fine
Click HERE to see required equipment. We have loaner boxing gloves and shin guards if you don’t have any yet.
For Sparring:
16oz Boxing / Muay Thai gloves (not MMA gloves)
Muay Thai / Kickboxing shinguards (not MMA / sleeve shinguards)
Knee Pads & Elbow Pads (for sparring)
180 inch hand wraps
Fitted mouth guard (do not wear one that’s not fitted)
Cups / Groin protectors if you require one (for sparring)
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a ground fighting self-defense system built on leverage, position, and submissions. It emphasizes the use of skill and technique to overcome a larger, stronger opponent. Our BJJ classes are designed for all levels and ensures that our students have strong fundamentals. Jiu-jitsu is not only a challenging workout physically, it also challenges you mentally as you work through the intricacies of position and submission while live rolling.
Our BJJ Basics classes are the perfect introduction to grappling for those that have no prior experience. For those that are familiar with the art, repetition is key for honing those skills, Drillerz are Killerz.
Required Clothing and Equipment:
Gi BJJ: a gi (traditional BJJ uniform) is required for these classes, we have loaner gis you can rent until you get your own.
No-Gi BJJ: comfortable workout clothes that don’t have exposed zippers or buckles, they might scratch our partners or the mats. Loose t-shirts or tank tops tend to get fingers and toes caught in them, we recommend wearing tights and compression shirts.
